CSM Course Introduction

In the current environment of constantly evolving technology and customer requirements, Scrum is the differentiator between organizations that thrive versus ones that struggle to survive. Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) training helps you get introduced to the concepts and terminology for adopting Agile. We cover the essential concepts, terminology, principles, values, and techniques of being successful with implementing Scrum. As a ScrumMaster you will learn how to lead development teams toward Agile delivery by helping them understand product backlogs, sprint planning, Scrum releases, tracking and reporting progress, and conducting retrospectives.

The two-day Certified ScrumMaster certification workshop is a prerequisite to take the exam to become a Scrum Alliance Certified ScrumMaster. Upon the completion of the workshop, you will have a deep understanding of the Scrum framework, Agile fundamentals, Scrum artifacts, ceremonies, roles. CSM training includes a 2-year membership in the Scrum Alliance.

Prerequisites

Professionals working in the software development field can significantly benefit from the Scrum Master certification. This certification is advantageous for project managers, scrum masters, software developers, product owners, software architects, team leads, QA managers, and so on.

To be someone who can do Scrum Master certification, you need to have 14 hours of live online training or 16 hours of in-person training with a Certified Scrum Trainer

Otherwise, you need to have 25 hours of face-to-face interaction with your Certified Agile Coach. 

Once you have completed your course, you will need to accept a licensing agreement that will allow you to take the CSM exam.

Steps to attain CSM Certification

  • Step 1: Follow an easy and hassle-free approach to register on Agility Technology website, a Global REP of Scrum Alliance (SA).
  • Step 2: To understand fundamental Scrum concepts and terminology go through the Scrum Guide and Agile Manifesto to prepare yourself for training.
  • Step 3: Take the 2-day CSM course and get instructed by Certified Scrum Trainer® (CSTs).
  • Step 4: Scrum Alliance will send you a link to create login credentials on successful completion of course.
  • Step 5: Click on the link received from Scrum Alliance and create your own login credentials.
  • Step 6: Take the 1 hour online CSM® test which comprises of 50 multiple choice questions by using those login credentials.
  • Step 7: Get at least 37 questions correct (74%) to pass the CSM® test, after completing the course.
  • Step 8: Once the test is cleared, you will be requested to accept a license agreement.
  • Step 9: After accepting it, you will receive CSM designation & a 2-year membership from Scrum Alliance.
  • A downloadable PDF  of certificate and a CSM badge will be posted on your profile page on the Scrum Alliance webpage.
  • Step 10: You have to renew the certification once every two years
